Hales Chapel Family,

Good morning. In case you did not notice, I missed sending an email last week. You will recall that I had traveled to Alabama with our youngest daughter to take a van loaded with her personal items in advance of her upcoming wedding. We returned home during the early evening on that Monday and I spend rest of the week trying to catch-up and never got around to writing the email. I do appreciate Dr. Chuck Register preaching for me when I was out of town. I heard positive reports regarding his faithfulness in proclaiming God’s Word. You will be happy to know that he will be preaching again on Sunday, March 20th, the day after the wedding. I may or may not be here that Sunday but I definitely know I don’t want to be preaching that day. I am sure you understand.

I thought we had another wonderful service on Sunday as the Praise Band led in us in worship, the choir singing a special, and then us feasting on God’s Word as we continued to examine the Beatitudes. As I have previously stated, I think God is messing with each of our worlds as we work through the verses each week.

We had a delightful time and great crowd at the Valentine’s Banquet this past Saturday. Thanks to Dakota, the Youth Committee, and all of the Youth for their hard work to make this happen. Over $800 was raised, which will be used to reduce the cost of the World Changers mission trip to Columbia, SC this summer. A special thanks for the youth who participated in the talent contest. Great talent! You might want to ask to see the video of the winning performance but I want to continue to serve as pastor—so, we will not be showing it on Sunday morning. J

Devotional Thought: Mark 1:17 “Follow Me,” Jesus told them, “and I will make you fish for people!” Jesus calls his disciples to follow after Him. As part of that obedience and relationship, they would be used of God to bring others into the Kingdom. Nothing has changed for disciples today. Christians are to be disciples. Disciples are to be used to bring others into the Kingdom. We have the privilege to participate in this through personally sharing the gospel, praying for people near and far away to receive the gospel, and giving financially so the gospel may be taken to the ends of the earth. We never want to accept lostness.
